South to the Border

Doug Easton is preparing for a trip to Nogales Arizona. Doug knows all the roads to take on this trip because he drove the route in 2019 to deliver donations from Montview. In partnership with the non-profit organization Kino Border Initiative, Doug will be delivering Montview’s clothing donations to the border that will then be given out to recent immigrants. Many of those in need have been traveling from Central and South America wearing the same things they wore when starting their journey.

Doug serves on Montview’s Immigration Task Force. He felt drawn to doing more than just donating items needed.  “It was like a calling for me,” commented Doug.  The situation at our southern border has certainly been described by eyewitness accounts as a deplorable human tragedy.  Thousands have been forced from their homes with many having to flee searching for freedom and a better life.  Doug added, “I have the skills to help make this happen and it is a way for me to do my part.” Doug is planning to leave in his “packed to the gills” car February 26th and will return to Montview in early March. His efforts are an inspiration to us all and I encourage you to pray for his safe journey.
