John Goerner, Director of Video Services

John Goerner is the Director of Video Services at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church.  He has been helping Montview with video and audio for many years in many ways. At the end of March 2020, during COVID, John began working with Minister of Music, Adam Waite, to produce the music portions of Montview@Home. When Taylor Anderson, Director of Communications, moved on, John took over responsibility for the entire service and additional video clips such as Word to the Children. His self-driven mission was to bring Montview to the people at a time when in-person worship was suspended. To John, this meant high-quality production and helping people experience the church and its beautiful surroundings in new and different ways—especially throughout seasonal changes.

John officially joined the Montview staff as a part-time worker in July 2021, as the church continued the transition to livestreaming Sunday worship and other services. While John’s responsibilities have grown to include supporting virtually all video and audio-related work at the church, he still loves working on special music presentations and creating visual meditations every Sunday.

John studied at Colorado State University and graduated with a BA in Journalism with a concentration in Documentary Film and Broadcast News. In addition to his work at Montview, John is the owner of Non-Stop Productions, a video production company he started 33 years ago. John provides production services from Director of Photography, Producer and Editor to entire productions working in Corporate, Non-Profit and educational areas. John has co-produced documentaries, many of which are available on PBS. John also teaches at Colorado Film School.

When John squeezes in some personal time, he loves to hike and snowshoe with his wife Linda. He also loves goofing off with the best granddaughter in the world, Aeron, and spending time with his wife and children at their family cabin. He admits to “geeking out” about good movies and really good TV!
