Ash Wednesday Taizé-Style Prayer Service
Montview holds its annual evening service of music and prayer in observance of Ash Wednesday to mark the beginning of the season of Lent. This season is the 40-day period between Ash Wednesday and Easter (excluding Sundays) that calls upon Christ’s 40 days in the desert and is intended for our personal inward reflection and examination. The journey inward during Lent prepares us to more fully embrace Easter. We will worship together in the style of the monastic Taizé community with sung prayers, silence, communion and the imposition of ashes.
Silent meditation is at 6:30pm with the service beginning at 7:00pm.
