Where Has All the Music Gone…Long Time Passing

Where Has All the Music Gone…Long Time Passing My apologies to Peter Seeger for modifying the lyrics, but the melody still works. What happened to the Westminster Choir during the pandemic? As a group we have missed a lot of time together. During normal times we would be spending 2-3 hours a week with each other, getting updates on our …

Montview Celebrates Earth Day

Montview Celebrates Earth Day Dozens of Montview families gathered under a warm Colorado sun on Saturday, 4/24, to celebrate Earth Day. The children planted vegetable and herb seeds, decorated reusable tote bags, played with bubbles, and tossed a giant “earth” beach ball. It was so terrific to gather in person for this special celebration.  – Submitted By Mary Jo Brooks

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday Although Ian tried to remind us that the week following Palm Sunday is all about betrayal, denial and losing our way, the message couldn’t stand up to the giddy excitement of being together in such hope…and let’s face it, in the presence of a real-live donkey. At age 15, Misty the Donkey is the granddame of professional donkeys …

Stop By Saturday

Stop By Saturday On February 20, Montview members took advantage of the bright sunny morning to “stop by” and pick up homeless packets, cook books, Lenten activity books and yard signs.

Back in the Pew

Back in the Pew I attended one of the Lenten silent prayer times in the sanctuary this week. My mom and I sat out in the blustery sunshine for a while beforehand to get caught up on each other’s news, then when it was our time Doug Easton breezily waved us in like he was opening the door to his …

With only a week’s notice, Montview members donated enough meals and gift cards to share the love …

Christmas Trees for a Cause

Christmas Trees for a Cause Barbara Gehring, longtime friend of Montview Church (and comedy partner of Linda Klein Orosz) saw the Christmas Trees for a Cause notice in Montview’s weekly email and decided to take part. She wanted to share some highlights of their trip with the Montview community…. “To be able to cut down our Christmas tree in a …

Stewardship Sunday

Stewardship Sunday Montview’s 2020 version of Stewardship Sunday had a festive feel to it. As I approached the steps to the sanctuary I saw Montivew’s 91 year-old stewardship chest sitting on the landing, I wondered if it had ever been outdoors since the day it was brought to the church in 1929. If it was enjoying the bright Colorado sunshine as much as …
