*Prayer for the Occasion
Adapted from “A Blessing for Presence” by John O’Donohue
May we awaken to the mystery of being here
And enter the quiet immensity of our own presence.
May we have joy and peace in the temple of our senses.
May we receive great encouragement when new frontiers beckon.
May we respond to the call of our gifts and find the courage to follow its path.
May we experience each day as a sacred gift, Woven around our hearts of wonder.
Prayer for Illumination (Unison) Dr. Peter Hulac, Elder
Bless our hearing
so that the Scripture
may be for us a living Word.
May your Spirit move us
to fresh understandings. Amen.

RITE OF INSTALLATION
Scriptural Litany of Gifts Rev. Ruth McCollum Huff
Leader: There are varieties of gifts, but it is the same spirit
who gives them.
People: There are different ways of serving God, but it is
the same Lord who is served.
Leader: God works through each person in a unique way,
but it is God’s purpose that is accomplished.
People: To each is given a gift of the Spirit, to be used
for the common good.
Leader: Together we are the body of Christ, and individually
members of it.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever. Amen.
