Chorale Prelude “Dear Christians One and All,  Rejoice”
Heinrich Scheidemann (ca. 1595-1663)

Welcome

*Call to Worship
Leader: Oh come, let us gather for worship,
People: For we have been pulled in many directions and our hearts are full with worry for the world.
Leader: Oh come, let us gather for worship,
People: Where we can rest in the presence of grace and renew our strength and faith.
All: Oh come, let us gather for worship.

*Opening Hymn
14 For the Beauty of the Earth (Dix)

*Corporate Confession
(Unison)
Find your way, O God, into our fragile hearts,
and tell us again what we struggle to trust:
that your revolutionary love is at work,
even, and especially, in times of struggle and challenge.
In the grace of Jesus we pray. Amen.

LISTENING FOR GOD’S WORD

Scripture Lesson
Psalm 25:1-12; 19-22
(Pew Bible Page 465)

Sermon
Soul Check
Amanda Osenga

Readings from Psalm 25
PULPIT: To You, O Love,
I lift up my soul!
O Heart within my heart,
in You I place my trust.
Let me not feel unworthy;
let fear not rule over me.
Yes! May all who open their hearts
savor You and bless the earth!

LECTERN: Compel me to know your ways, O Love;
instruct me upon your paths.
Lead me in your truth,
and teach me,
for through You will I know
wholeness;
I shall reflect your Light
both day and night.

I know of your mercy,
Blessed One,
and of your unconditional Love;
You have been with me
from the beginning.
Forgive the many times I have walked away from You
choosing to follow my own will.
I seek your guidance, once again,
I yearn to know your Peace.
Companion me as I open to your Will!

You are gracious and just,
O Spirit of Truth,
happy to guide those who
miss their way;
You enjoy teaching all
who are open,
all who choose to live in truth.
your paths are loving and sure,
O Holy One.
And those who give witness to You through their lives
are blessed beyond measure.

Turn to me, O Holy One, and
envelop me with your love,
for I am lonely and oppressed.
Relieve the blocks in my heart
that keep me separated from You;
See all the darkness within me;
fill it with your healing Light,

Look at my pain and all my fears;
they shut out love and life.
Protect me and free me;
let me not live as unworthy,
for I would return Home to You.

May integrity and wholeness
fill me as I dwell with You,
O Loving Presence.

ALL: May we, together, with the
angels and the company of heaven,
help unfold your Plan
for planet Earth.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S GRACE

Offering
Making a financial gift makes Montview’s programs and ministries possible, including this worship service. You are invited to give generously at www.montview.org/giving or by texting a dollar amount to 720-452-6449. Offering boxes are stationed at the exit for cash and checks. We’re grateful for your support.

Prayer of Dedication (Unison)
God, you have so greatly loved us, long sought us, and mercifully redeemed us. Give us grace that in everything, we may yield ourselves, our wills and our works. A continual thank offering to you. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer (Unison)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Columbarium News
If you’ve visited the Montview columbarium lately, you’ve seen the gorgeous gardens in full bloom. A final resting place for interring the ashes of our loved ones, this sacred space also offers a quiet spot for prayer and reflection. Time and weather have taken a toll on many of the older nameplates along the columbarium wall, and we are beginning the process of replacing them with new plates made from an alloy that will age more gracefully. As always, we invite you to stop by the columbarium and enjoy the gardens at your leisure. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Ian.
