This morning’s performance of “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning” – an American Negro Spiritual – is presented in accordance with our reparations royalty pilot program: a practice of valuing the musical contributions of enslaved Africans to American worship and song. Advent Series: Messiah!
November 19 – December 10 | 9:30 AM (Miller Chapel)
We will explore the Advent and Christmas portions of Handel’s Messiah, including a look at the composer and librettist, the Biblical texts and Handel’s music. The class will include four sessions, beginning November 19 and ending December 10.
