Welcome

*Call to Worship
Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
People: Serve the Lord with gladness!
Leader: Come into God’s presence with singing;
People: Enter into God’s courts with praise.
All:        Let us worship God.

*Corporate Confession (Unison)
Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you
in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and we humbly repent,
for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways,
to the glory of your name. Amen.

*Assurance of God’s Love

*Response Gloria

*Passing of the Peace

Anthem
Wide + Free
Ike Strum

Even the smallest drop of dew sings,
sings of the goodness of God’s glory.

Her song of thanksgiving wide and free.
Her song of thanksgiving wide and free.

With mornings release of sun,
Release of sun reflected on her face,
The possibility of petal’s kiss.

A promise of rebirth with moon’s glow
She sounds her stanza into endless fields of lifetimes,
She sounds her stanza into endless fields.

Before bidding farewell to the night,
The night that formed her
And the day that will carry her remembrance.

Even the smallest drop of dew sings,
Even the smallest drop of dew sings.

Her song of thanksgiving wide and free.
Her song of thanksgiving wide and free.

Text – Chanda Rule, based on Psalm 19

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer (Unison)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. We are happy to welcome Rev. Nadia Bolz-Weber to our pulpit once again. Rev. Bolz-Weber is serving as Theologian-in-Residence at Montview Church, as well as Pastor of Public Witness. As is our tradition, we’ll celebrate with bag pipes and the singing of Highland Cathedral with the Choir.

All Saints Sunday – November 1
We will continue our annual tradition of reading the names to honor those who have died in our community over the past year. Immediately following both the 8:30a and 11a services we will gather in Montview’s outdoor columbarium (on the east side of the church) for a brief service of prayer, scripture and the reading of names.
