It was a magical evening at Red Rocks Amphitheater on Wednesday, as Denver Mayor Michael Hancock proclaimed, “We’re back!” It was a night to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the iconic stage, to herald the reopening of the community as the coronavirus pandemic winds down and to showcase Denver’s talented musicians who found ways to inspire and entertain us in ways that didn’t involve crowded venues. One of those talents was Montview’s Minister of Music, Adam Waite, who performed with vocalist JoFoKe and trumpeter Shane Endsley. Adam also accompanied vocalist Emily Wortham, a nurse at UC Health who had sung to her patients as they battled Covid-19. Another highlight: the 8 o’clock howl, which was started by a Denver couple to honor medical workers each evening during the quarantine and which went viral across the country.
