Art Reflection - A Fractal

A fractal, first named by Benoit Mandelbrot in 1975, is a unique pattern found in nature. When you see a series of patterns repeating over and over again, at many different scales and where any small part resembles the whole, you are seeing a fractal, a true and astounding blessing of extravagance and structure from the God of all.

On this week of Earth Day, let us give thanks for the decent and in order natural world around us. In the beauty of branches, shells, flowers may we notice and give thanks for the wisdom, the gentle geometry of the earth. May we support this continued amazement and most of all do no harm. We give thanks for God’s creation and our place within it. Amen.

In faith and hope,
