Weddings

The Wedding Ceremony is a public affirmation of the trust and love you have with your partner. The decision to marry is a sign that two people have been drawn together in the closest of relationships, where dependence upon the grace of God, gratitude for one another and commitment to each other are fundamental. The marriage ceremony itself is a religious service of worship and dedication. It is a time of thanksgiving for the gift of God’s love for us and your love for each other. Surround yourselves with those you love and who love you, and you will create a reverent, shared moment that you will remember for the rest of your lives. If you would like to schedule a wedding or learn more about holding your wedding at Montview, email: askus@montview.org.

Baptism

Baptism is the church’s way of welcoming a child into the love of God and the nurture of the congregation. We speak about God’s love, which is present in each new life. We receive parents’ commitment to giving their child the love of a community of faith, and we promise to be “the village” for each person who is baptized.

We also baptize adults who would like to become members of the church but who have never been baptized. If you are interested in scheduling a baptism or learning more about baptism, call us at 303-355-1651 or email askus@montview.org.

Communion

Communion, or “The Lord’s Supper,” is a celebration of the community of Jesus Christ. We share this sacrament with the wider Christian Church, believing that all are called to share the bread and cup in Christ’s name together. Everyone is welcome at Montview’s communion table.

Montview celebrates communion on the first Sunday of each month at both services of worship. The Presbyterian Church does not include a specific rite for a child’s first communion. Parents decide when their children are ready to participate. Children learn about communion in Sunday School and many shadow our elders and deacons when they serve communion, which helps broaden their understanding of this sacrament in our faith community.

Memorials

Scripture teaches that in life and in death, we belong to God. As people of faith, we claim this truth when a loved one dies by celebrating their lives through a Service of Witness to the Resurrection – known in some traditions as a memorial service or funeral. Through this service, we give thanks to God for the gift of life, and we claim the power of Christ at work in resurrection.

Montview Clergy and Staff can support you and your family before, during, and after the loss of a loved one, so please inquire at askus@montview.org if you wish to schedule a pastoral visit or for information about memorial service planning.

Columbarium

Montview has a beautiful Columbarium and Memorial Garden where the cremains of those in the Montview community may be interred. For information about Columbarium availability and cost, reach out to askus@montview.org.
