Capital Campaign

Capital Campaign

Our Belief

As generations before us have stewarded Montview, so too must we. In serving the greater Denver and global community through mission, programming, and spiritual nourishment, we are a beacon of hope in a world striving for connection. As such, we embraced our responsibility as caretakers, and embarked on a capital campaign with our eyes toward the next generation of Montview.

This campaign preserved our heritage, strengthening Montview from the inside out, while ensuring attendees for the next 100 years will have a place to call home.

Historic Montview

There was a significant opportunity to restore and improve the interior spaces of the two most historic sanctuaries within the campus: the Library/Heritage Center and the Miller Center. Through these projects, the Library/Heritage Center maintained its important role as a historic and cultural heart for the campus and provided a new active and vibrant social gathering space on Montview Boulevard. The Miller Center was transformed into a new multi-purpose worship and performance space for the congregation and community.

Spaces of Welcome

Projects in the Narthex and Westminster Commons improved arrival, information, social exchange, spiritual transition, and decompression. Read how each space played a different yet complementary role in the welcoming of the congregation and visitors to worship, work, or events within the site.

Our Guiding Principles

Beauty & Awe
We recognize that these spaces must reflect and inspire a sacred sense of awe and wonder and that our identity should be reflected through the integration of beautiful, sacred and artful experiences across the campus.

Stewardship
We value and extend the legacy and history of this place, its buildings and people; heightening our awareness of the past and reshaping for the future.

Connectivity
Our buildings and spaces facilitate connections—between people and the Spirit, between members of the congregation, between the congregation and the Park Hill community, for all ages and at all scales—from the individual to the neighborhood.

Responsiveness
We understand that the life of Montview and its spaces is one of fluid continuity; constantly connected to our tradition of worship and work, while adapting to the changing needs of our world and community. Our plans must provide a flexible and adaptable framework to meet these needs into the future, and for a multiplicity of uses now.

Our Calling

To build a strong future for Montview, we must be stewards of our church and our community. We will:

Invest in our home through critical stewardship projects across the campus, including sanctuary roof repairs, HVAC upgrades, window refurbishment, and fire safety systems.

Preserve our history through restorative reconfigurations of the Miller Center, campus landscape, and Heritage Center.

Greet new generations of congregants through re-imagined spaces of welcome.

Expand our horizons through an extension of the Commons, providing second-level access to the choir loft and new meeting space.

Our Future

For over 100 years, Montview has welcomed all who seek spiritual sustenance. The fact that Montview continues to thrive is a testament to its vibrant, passionate congregants and leaders. With such a bright future, the imperative to modernize our building to prepare for future growth was clear.
