Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Inquirer’s Class?
The Inquirer’s class is an opportunity to explore becoming a member of Montview. It is held on either a Wednesday evening or Saturday morning for 3 ½ hours. It provides an opportunity to get to our Pastors, Ian, and Sheri, as well as Sandy, our Director of Children and Family Ministries.
Do I need to attend an Inquirer’s class to join the church?
Yes, we hope you will attend a class to learn about Montview and meet others. However, it you have extenuating circumstances, please call Ian.
What is discussed in the class?
At the beginning of the class there is a sharing time in which everyone is invited to introduce themselves. Time is spent learning about the Montview community, its ministry and mission and the larger context of the Presbyterian Church . We conclude with a question and answer period and details for those who plan to join.
We are currently members of another church. How do we transfer church membership?
Contact the office staff with the name of your previous church, and they will arrange for your membership to be transferred to Montview if possible.
I haven’t been baptized. Can I join the church?
