A Welcoming, Safe Place for all People
Montview Church through its Peace and Justice Task Force is working in partnership with PFLAG [/www.pflagdenver.org/] and the Covenant Network of Presbyterians [www.covenantnetwork.org] to find ways to help the world and the church to be as generous and just as God’s grace.  Upcoming activities will be occasionally posted at this sight.  The Denver chapter of PFLAG meets monthly at Montview Church.  Montview Church is the home of the Denver Gay Mens Chorus [www.dgmc.org] which “builds community through music.”  The DVD of the movie “For the Bible Tells Me So” may be borrowed for showing through Danean or Diane in the Montview Church office.

“I always wanted to be one of those people who would make things change for my gay friends – I just wasn’t sure how or where to do it.” Sound familiar? Chances are it is. Across the country, thousands of allies – straight individuals who don’t necessarily have a family member who is gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender (GLBT) – are seeing big changes in the way that their GLBT friends and colleagues are treated. While many of these changes are good, there’s still a long way to go before equality is reached. The problem is that many of these allies want to help, but just don’t know how, or if they’re needed, or, for that matter, where to start. Allies, you’ve come to the right place. Straight for Equality is the answer for you. Straight for Equality is a national outreach and education project to empower allies in supporting and advocating for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in three primary arenas: Our homes; Our workplaces; Our communities.

Welcome to Straight for Equality – we’re glad you’re here and can’t wait for you to start learning more. What’s next?
Take the Straight for Equality pledge and get a friend to do it too.
Find out 10 simple things you can do to change the world as an ally.
Meet some allies, read their stories...and tell yours.
Have questions? We have answers. Check out our FAQs.
Read a book, watch a movie, or find other ways to move equality forward.
