Participation for third, fourth and fifth graders
Montview Church has wonderful ways for our third, fourth and fifth graders to participate in worship in our beautiful sanctuary.
3rd – 5th Graders can join our Children’s Ushering Team. This group serves every six weeks at the 10:30 service. Please contact Samantha Sturhahn firstname.lastname@example.org
if you have questions or to join the team. Ushering is a wonderful way to be a part of our greater congregation and serve in worship.
4th – 5th Graders can be acolytes. Each acolyte is in the 10:30 worship service a few times a year, leading the processional for the pastors and carrying candles or the large cross. Please contact Beth Ellsworth email@example.com for information and to join this program . We have two acolyte mentors who will help the children get ready each Sunday. Linda Chain and Ginny Allen even know how to tie the very challenging cincture knot!
Please discuss these opportunities with your children! We hope that your family will join us!
Montview Church is a great place to be a child!
Childcare Schedule September -May:
On Sunday mornings there is childcare for ages birth to 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with Sunday School for ages 2-10 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. There are also opportunities to take part in drama, choir and worship leadership for ages 5 – 11.
Our Sunday School curriculum is based on Bible stories from the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. Our program emphasizes the nurturing of strong relationships between the children and teachers and among the children. It is an activity-based and dynamic program which includes building historical and cultural contexts for learning and ecumenical and interfaith connections. We encourage parents to be a part of their children’s Christian education and we keep them informed through program e-mails, newsletter articles and parent gatherings.
Did You Know that our Children’s Programs at Montview are led by staff and volunteers who are:
